9. PURIFYING

 

 “One moves the tips of one’s fi ngers from the lips outwards, at the same, time blowing gently. The blowing of the air signifi es the Word, and the moving of the arms outwards represents sowing the seeds of the Word. This exercise speaks about the receiving of the Word and its sowing. It expresses that the Conscious Word which is given through language needs to be sown. It can be named as well: the introduction of the pure Word into life, or the right way of introducing pure thoughts, feelings and actions into life.”

 Music: Melody 9 (No 1 – “First Day of Spring”)– 40 measures.

 Starting position
 One passes from the previous exercise to the new one. The hands come together in front of the mouth with the thumb, index and middle fi ngers of each hand touching. The other fi ngers are free, palms slightly opened and turned forwards (figures 9.1 and 9.2).

 Movement sequence
 1st measure, 1st beat: step with the left*foot. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd beats: both hands open out horizontally to the side, palms turned downwards. At the same time, exhale from the mouth, blowing lightly (fi gures 9.3 and 9.4).
 2nd measure, 1st beat: step forwards with the right foot (fi gure 9.5). On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd beats: the hands return to the starting position, at the same time inhaling through the nose. Participants do not sing while performing this exercise.
  These movements are repeated until the end of the music and lead directly to the next exercise. In the last measure the hands come back to the front of the mouth.
